Orange and Champagne Granita
There’s really no better way to highlight the amazing taste of orange juice than with this chic, delicious granita. Serve for dessert or as a palate cleanser in between courses of an elaborate meal. Enjoy!
2 cups Uncle Matt’s Organic OJ
1 cup Champagne or sparkling wine
1/4 cup organic granulated sugar
1/4 cup honey
Garnish: Fresh basil leaves
Pour the juice and champagne into a medium saucepan. Set over medium heat and then whisk in the sugar and honey. Bring to a simmer, whisking until sugar is dissolved. Pour the granita mixture into a square baking pan. Let cool to room temperature, approximately 30 minutes. Cover with plastic wrap and freeze overnight.
To serve, use a fork to scrape the granita into fluffy ice crystals. Scoop into serving cups, garnish with basil leaves and serve immediately.
