Rosewater Lemonade
Roses are red, violets are blue, make this Rosewater Lemonade, and they’ll fall in love with you! If you’re looking for the perfect drink to make for that special someone this year, our Rosewater Lemonade combines sweet and floral for a fragrant refresher fit for Valentine’s Day! While this mocktail is tasty as is, try adding a splash of vodka for an adults-only version.
Ingredients:
For the rosewater:
- 1/4 cup dried rose petals, food grade
- 1.5 cups distilled water
For the lemonade:
- 1 ½ cups Uncle Matt’s Organic No Sugar Added Strawberry Lemonade
- 1 cup rosewater (made from ingredients above)
- 1 cup granulated organic sugar
- 2 oz organic vodka (optional)
- 4-6 cups water
- Organic lemon slices, for garnish
- Food grade, edible rose petals for garnish
- Ice, to taste
Directions:
For the rosewater:
1. Combine 1/4 cup dried rose petals with 1/5 cup distilled water in a small-medium saucepan.
2. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer, simmer for 5-10 minutes, or until the petals are nearly colorless. Remove from heat.
3. Put a funnel over a jar (if storing, use a dark-colored glass jar with a lit/cap), and place cheesecloth or filter (I use a No. 4 coffee filter). Pour the rosewater over the filter to separate out the rose petals.
For the lemonade:
1. In a large beverage dispenser or pitcher, combine 1 1/2 cups strawberry lemonade, rose water simple syrup (1 cup rose water plus 1 cup granulated white sugar), and 4-6 cups of water, and stir to combine. Chill until ready to serve.
2. Garnish with lemon slices and additional rose petals, if you wish. Serve with ice, and enjoy!
