Honey Orange Ginger Salmon

We love recipes that consist of many items you probably already have on hand. That means maybe a short, quick trip to the grocery store to fill any gaps, and an enjoyable meal underway in no time! Better yet, these few simple steps mean not only a delicious plate, but minimal mess to clean up too. Did your busy weeknight just get a whole lot better? Yes!
This seemingly simple salmon dish features complex flavors that work together to bring you an Asian-inspired flavor profile with a kick of citrus (Thanks, Uncle Matt’s Organic OJ!). Served over a bed of rice and topped with scallions and sesame seeds, you can bring restaurant-quality presentation into your own home, but with an organic freshness you can feel good about serving to your family.
Serves: 4
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes
2 tablespoons sesame oil
4 salmon fillets (4-6 ounces each)
⅓ cup Uncle Matt’s Organic Orange Juice
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce
3 garlic cloves, minced
1-inch piece of fresh ginger, grated or minced
1 tablespoon chili sauce
1 tablespoon lime juice
Salt and pepper to taste
For serving: rice, scallions, sesame seeds
Directions:
Heat a skillet to medium-high and add sesame oil. Once hot, sear salmon on one side for 4 minutes, then flip and sear for another 2-3 minutes, until crispy.
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk together orange juice, honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, chili sauce, lime juice, salt and pepper until smooth.
When salmon is finished cooking, remove from pan and set aside. Reduce heat to low and pour in honey orange sauce. Bring to a simmer, stir, and cook until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
Return salmon to the pan and spoon the sauce over each fillet. Serve over white rice with scallions and sesame seeds.
