These Superfruit Superheroes Are Packing a Punch
From a case of the sniffles to toxic chemical pesticides found in food, we can all agree that no one has time for these proverbial bad guys in our everyday lives. Unfortunately, these supervillains can be hard to avoid. So, who do we call when these naughty invaders try to wreck our day? Uncle Matt and his team of superfruit superheroes, of course!
Uncle Matt and his friends have banded together to create a new Organic Superfruit Punch made up of the ‘ultimate’ team of health-defending hero ingredients to save the day! Plus, when you drink any Uncle Matt’s Organic juice, you’re protected by the USDA Organic Seal – the gold standard in food labeling certifications. This means our juice is free of artificial additives, GMOs and toxic pesticides such as glyphosate.
So, who are these great champions? Let’s meet our Superfruit Punch’s “super ingredients:”
Dark Sweet Cherries
When we think of superheroes, we often think of one superpower per hero. Superfruits like dark cherries are different as they’re packed with multiple super strengths – sort of like Iron Man! According to Women’sHealth, you might want to have sweet cherries on your team for several reasons. Studies have shown that cherries could play a role in slowing the appearance of wrinkles. The polyphenols and antioxidants found in cherries could also help fight free radicals in your body and help regulate blood pressure.
Acerola
One of the most common questions we get asked is “what is acerola?” This is a type of cherry that’s rightly earned its designation as a superfruit. While acerola often flies under the radar, much like Hawkeye or Black Widow, when it comes to battling those pesky germs, acerola is here to avenge your health! This stealthy superfruit is tiny but mighty, and adds loads of Vitamin C to our Superfruit Punch. What’s more, acerola is also a source of phytonutrients like vitamins A, B, niacin, iron, phosphorous and calcium according to this study from the National Library of Medicine.
Blueberries
Blueberries are the Doctor Strange of the superfruit universe. They’re versatile and best served any time of day. You can find them across all sorts of meal types from breakfast smoothies to salad toppings to fresh baked desserts – and there’s a reason for that! The U.S. Department of Agriculture touts blueberries for being rich in antioxidants. Studies have shown that regular consumption of blueberries can help with cognitive degeneration, blood pressure regulation and lowered risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Pineapple
Pineapple is the Thor of our superfruit superheroes. It’s the biggest and showiest of all the other superfruits on our list, and its sweet flavor makes it one of the most attractive fruits to add to your grocery cart. Here’s why we consider pineapple to be a superfruit: According to healthline, pineapple is a great source of Vitamin C and manganese. Together these nutrients support immune health and metabolism. The antioxidants found in pineapples have also been studied for their impact of reducing cancer risk, decreasing inflammation and improving digestion.
Elderberries
In the superfruit universe, elderberries are a lot like Captain America. They’ve been around for a long time but have recently risen in popularity. Let’s assemble the benefits: Runner’s World commends elderberries for being high in Vitamins C and A which have been studied for supporting immune health, anti-inflammatory properties and reducing cold and flu symptoms.
Lemon
Don’t leave out lemons as a superfruit! Like the Hulk, they pack a punch – a punch of flavor, that is. Like all citrus fruits, they’re an abundant source of Vitamin C making them a perfect fit for our Superfruit Punch. Lemons have also been studied for their potential impacts of lowering risks for strokes, improved complexion, asthma prevention and increased iron absorption from plant-based sources (Medical News Today).
