The Uncle Matt’s Team Goes Above and Beyond for Local Students by Planting an Organic Garden
At Uncle Matt’s Organic, we don’t just talk the talk, we walk the walk! In addition to producing top-notch organic juice, we are dedicated to educating and cultivating a healthier generation through organic farming. And where better to start than with our youth?
Our team recently paid a visit to a middle school in Clermont, Florida, where we partnered with students in the school’s Garden Club to learn about organic farming. We had the privilege of working side-by-side with these young gardeners to plant their own veggies and herbs to enjoy. Uncle Matt shared with the students the significance of organic farming in producing nutrient-dense produce and sustaining a healthier planet.
We set up the foundation for the garden, establishing five garden beds teeming with organic soil and compost. The students eagerly planted a variety of veggies and herbs, like tomatoes, zucchini, cilantro, parsley and more, learning valuable skills along the way. They even got to witness firsthand the importance of flowers in attracting pollinators like bees and butterflies.
The fifth graders are now entrusted with the upkeep of the vegetable garden, tasked with watering and harvesting the produce once it reaches maturity. And with the success of a previous edible garden project at another local middle school, we have full confidence in their abilities!
