Burnt Grapefruit Gin and Tonic

Doesn’t this just look like fall in a glass? We’re loving the rustic tones of this burnt grapefruit gin and tonic. Pair your fall weekend getaways with these deliciously tart cocktails made from Uncle Matt’s Organic grapefruit juice.
Serves 4
Ingredients:
1/2 organic grapefruit
4 cups Uncle Matt’s Organic Grapefruit juice
1 tbsp organic cane sugar
10 basil leaves, finely chopped + more for garnish
6-8 oz gin
2 cups ice, divided
½ cup tonic water
Directions:
- Preheat a skillet on medium high for 4 minutes. Cut your grapefruit half into 4 quarters. Sprinkle quarters with sugar on both sides and place in skillet. Sear for 30 to 40 seconds per side until charred.
- Pour grapefruit juice chopped basil, gin and half of the ice to a cocktail shaker. Shake well and pour the mixture into lowball glasses. Top with remaining ice and tonic water. Garnish each with a seared grapefruit wedge and basil leaves.
