Pasta with Orange Basil Cream Sauce
Brighten up your pasta night with our Orange Basil Cream Sauce! Uncle Matt’s Organic Orange Juice adds a refreshing twist to this creamy, basil-filled dish.
Ingredients
4 tablespoons organic unsalted butter divided use
2 teaspoons minced organic fresh garlic
2 teaspoons chopped fresh organic basil
1 ¼ cups Uncle Matt’s Organic OJ
¼ cup Cointreau or Grand Marnier
¼ cup dry white wine
½ cup organic heavy cream
salt and pepper to taste
Additional organic fresh basil and organic orange zest for garnish
Instructions
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons butter. Add the garlic and the basil and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Add orange juice, Cointreau, and white wine. Bring to a boil, and lower the heat to simmer. Simmer until reduced by half, approximately 15 minutes.
- Add the cream, and simmer for 3 minutes, or until slightly thickened. Remove from heat, and whisk in remaining 2 tablespoons butter.
- Garnish with additional fresh basil and orange zest and serve over 8 ounces cooked linguini or angel hair pasta with grilled fish or roasted chicken, if desired. Makes 4 to 6 servings
