Sage & Ginger Simple Syrup
- 2 tablespoons fresh grated organic ginger or 1 teaspoon ginger powder
- 5–6 fresh organic sage leaves OR 1 teaspoon dried sage
- 1 tablespoon organic orange zest
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup organic white sugar
Orange Defense Turmeric Cocktail
- Prosecco, chilled
- 1 1/2 ounces gin (or preferred spirit)
- 1/4 cup Uncle Matt’s Organic Orange Defense (with Turmeric & Probiotics)
- 2 teaspoons organic lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons sage & ginger simple syrup
- Orange wedge for garnish
Sage & Ginger Simple Syrup Preparation
1. In a medium saucepan, combine water and sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently until sugar dissolves.
2. Reduce heat to low and add sage, ginger, and orange zest. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
3. Remove from heat and let steep for 5 more minutes.
4. Pour the cooled syrup through a coffee filter into an airtight jar.
ORANGE DEFENSE COCKTAIL PREPARATION
1. Fill glass halfway with chilled Prosecco.
2. Stir in gin (or preferred spirit), Uncle Matt’s Orange Defense with Turmeric + Probiotics, organic lemon juice, and sage & ginger simple syrup (to taste).
3. Garnish with an orange wedge or wheel and enjoy immediately.
