3 No Fuss Ways to Stay Cool This Summer… That Actually Work

When the heat is on, “drink more water” just doesn’t cut it. You already know you should be hydrating, right? What you need are a few tricks that make it feel less like a chore and more like a treat. Here are three things we actually do to stay cool and refreshed all summer long. No complicated recipes. No special equipment. Just easy upgrades that make a real difference.
1. Give Your Lemonade a Little Something Extra
Our No Sugar Added Lemonade is already doing a lot: Clean ingredients, no added sugar, and that bright, fresh flavor that tastes like someone squeezed real lemons (we actually did). But toss in a few frozen fruit slices or a sprig of fresh herbs and suddenly you’ve got something more ‘special.’
Mint. Basil. Cucumber. Sliced strawberries. Whatever you’ve got sitting on the counter or lingering in the fridge. It takes about 30 seconds and tastes like something you’d pay $9 for at a farmer’s market. Frozen mango chunks work especially well, too, as they double as ice while they slowly melt in.
The beauty of this tip is there are no rules. It’s your glass, after all!
2. Start With a Frozen Glass
Speaking of a glass… This one sounds almost too simple, but it’s a game changer.
Stick your favorite glass or tumbler in the freezer for 10–15 minutes before you pour. When you pull it out, it’s ice-cold and slightly frosted, and whatever you pour into it stays that way for a long time. It’s the difference between a sip that refreshes and a glass that goes lukewarm before you’re halfway through.
3. Freeze Your Juice Into Ice Cubes
This is another great tip! And once you try it, you’ll never go back to watered-down drinks again.
Pour any Uncle Matt’s juice, lemonade, or craft brewed tea into an ice cube tray and freeze overnight. Drop a few cubes into your glass the next day, and as they slowly melt, they add more flavor instead of diluting it. The last few sips? Still cold. Still delicious.
Our Superfruit Punch cubes in a glass of lemonade. Ultimate Defense cubes in sparkling water. Half and Half Black Tea Lemonade cubes in iced tea. The combinations are endless!
Summer doesn’t have to mean just surviving the heat. With a little creativity and a good bottle in your fridge, it can actually taste pretty great.
